Effective October 1, 2026
ABS+ ("the app") is a client for Audiobookshelf, a media server that you or someone you know runs. This policy explains what the app handles and where that data goes. In short: the developer of ABS+ receives no data from you. The app has no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third-party SDKs that collect data.
The app only communicates with the Audiobookshelf server address you enter when signing in. It sends that server:
That server is operated by you or by whoever runs it, not by the developer of ABS+. Its handling of data is covered by its operator's policies. If you enter an address starting with http:// rather than https://, traffic to it is not encrypted.
Logging out removes your account data, tokens, cache and settings from the device. Downloads are kept until you remove them (Settings → Downloads) or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes everything. On iOS, the system can keep login tokens in the Keychain after an uninstall; the app deletes them if it's installed again.
On Android, device backups of app data are disabled. On iOS, login tokens are stored in the Keychain for this device only and downloads are excluded from backups. Settings and lists (such as favorites and recently played) can be part of your own encrypted iCloud or computer backup.
On Android:
Downloads use Android's system download manager.
On iOS:
Downloads use iOS background transfers, so they continue when the app is closed.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
